About

Jess Hu is a multi-disciplinary artist who cultivates feelings of exploration, innovation, and empowerment through movement, sound, and visuals. With over 15 years of dance experience, Jess has competed in international competitions and pivoted from underground dance battles to merge her love for fashion. Since 2018, Jess has established herself as a movement muse and director, landing jobs with major brands like Jimmy Choo, Valentino, and Nike. She has also worked with prominent artists such as Zendaya and Beyonce in the movement space. Jess has made instrumental strides in the fashion industry, challenging the boundaries of the spaces she can co-exist in. In 2020, she expanded her skillset into music production, creating a series of custom runway show soundtracks for NYFW. Jess has also casted, produced, and movement directed fashion campaigns for major brands, artists, and editorials.

Jess has had the opportunity to dive into acting, making her debut this year at the 2023 SXSW Narrative Shorts Competition playing the lead role of Kiki in the featured short called SLICK TALK. She continues to challenge her artistry to master performance in both movement, sound, acting, and creative production.

As a creative generalist, Jess is always seeking new opportunities to add value everywhere she goes. She likes to think of herself as a chameleon, constantly evolving and stepping into different pillars of art.
